As many of you might have experienced, you go out intending only to look, not to commit. You’re not certain this is the right time or the right breed. You’ve done your due diligence online, scrolled through instagram puppy photos until you become addicted. But falling in love happens when you least expect it. Maisie and Molly were 12 weeks old when we first saw them at the breeders. All their 5 siblings have gone to their forever homes leaving these two sisters. When they were let out of their playpen to meet us, Maisie ran straight to us as if we were her long lost humans and was overjoyed to be reunited. She made all the right moves. Licking our faces, pawing our legs, looking at us with her adorable puppy eyes (there is something very special about locking eyes with your dog, an understanding of sorts that warms your heart).
Molly, on the other hand, sort of tagged along beside her sister, bouncing about to let us know she is keen to meet us, but not quite sure about getting too close. Both were wagging their tails like propellers. Who wouldn’t fall in love with these two when they make you feel like the most important humans they have ever known. I know, they are only 12 week old puppies, so how many humans have they seen? Regardless, I sensed a connection that lingered long after we left to see other puppies on our list,
All the other puppies we saw were equally adorable. All puppies are adorable. But, Maisie and Molly…they were special. It went beyond being adorable. Needless to say, Ash and I were both smitten.
